Frequently Asked
What age is best for a cake smash? +
Most cake smashes happen around the first birthday, between 11 and 13 months, when little ones can sit confidently and are curious enough to dig in. We're happy to photograph other milestones too.
Do I need to bring the cake? +
No. A bespoke smash cake in your chosen colours is included, made to be photogenic and baby-friendly. Just tell us about any allergies when you book.
Does it get messy? +
Wonderfully so, and that's the point. We have everything to clean up afterwards, including a warm splash bath in studio so baby goes home fresh and happy.
What should baby wear? +
We have outfits and props in studio, or you're welcome to bring something special. Many parents bring a change of clothes for the journey home too.
How long does the session take? +
Around an hour, in three parts: a few clean portraits first, then the cake, then the splash. We go at baby's pace and never rush the fun.
Can siblings or parents join in? +
For the opening portraits, yes. The cake itself is baby's moment to shine, but we'll always grab a few family frames at the start.
